"El Gordo" Enrique Rosich, the organizer of the Milonga de los Consagrados died today alone at his home. He was one of the oldest milonga organizers in Buenos Aires, and he made his milonga the very best. His son will continue to keep us dancing on Saturday afternoons at the Region Leonesa.
The Velatorio will be tomorrow, Monday, February 9, from 8-10 a.m. at Maximo Paz 501, Lanus Oeste, Provincia de Buenos Aires

Please convey my condolences to his friends and family. He always treated me as a long lost friend. Saturdays won't be the same, will they?
Oh Cherie, this is so sad. I had a dream about Enrique the other day and he has been on my mind for about a week. Though I only met him a few times, he remembered me every time, welcoming me like a long-lost sister. He ALWAYS made sure the best dancers gave me the cabeceo, introduced me to his friends, and made me feel like the belle of the ball. Nancy is right: Saturdays will never be the same.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend...I know that Los Consagrados was the night with 'your table' filled with friends & students from all over the world...The partabout his passing "alone"...got to me. I hope he knew he made it possible for so many "solas" to hear wonderful music and be held & danced in a close embrace on a night that is usually frequented by couples at other Saturday night venues.
Sorry to hear of the loss of your amigo in the world of tango.
I always had a good time at his milonga and he even helped celebrate my birthday.
I am very very sad for that.
Enrique was a great person.

I AM DEVASTATED AT THE DEATH OF ENRIQUE.
I SPOKE TO HIM ON SATURDAY....HE TOLD ME THAT HE HAD DIABETES, INJECTED HIMSELF AND TOOK CARE ABOUT HIS DIET IN ORDER NOT TO LOSE A LIMB..
I THINK HE WAS RATHER SAD AND EMBRACED ME WARMLY. I ALWAYS HAD A SOFT SPOT FOR HIM, HE ALWAYS TREATED ME SO WELL.
I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT HAPPENED TODAY.
I AM SO INCREDIBLY SAD....AS PERHAPS I COULD HAVE EVEN SPOKEN TO HIM FOR LONGER ALTHOUGH I DID GO UP TO HIM AGAIN AND TOLD HIM THAT I KNOW SEVERAL DIABETICS NON OF WHICH HAS HAD A LIMB AMPUTATED BAR THE ONE WE WERE SPEAKING ABOUT AT THE TIME.
I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!

Cherie and Ruben, Thanks for letting me know of this unfortunate incident. I had heard of his passing but it was in Spanish and I did not know if I understood. God bless him, he did a very good job to make everyone feel welcome. besos Don

Massive loss...I can still hear him from across the dance floor "Eh Gaita..." and telling me to keep my chin up and chest out...to walk properly and not to even think about doing anything other than "ochos". Couple of years later back in BA, one of the old boys at La Ideal got up and walked across from the other side of the floor to ask me where I'd learned to walk like that! It was Enrique...el de la Milonga de los Consagrados...
"Vos camina y dejate de bobadas" he would say pointing a me. He was so right.
